Mobile Monday

My apologies for my disappearance but don't blame me and don't even ask where I have been!!! I was looking for things to write about dah!!! Getting information is not difficult but getting first hand and quality information is the big challenge!

Back to the subject of the day,Mobile Monday also know as MoMo as fellow Jessica Colaco calls it,no offence Jess just trying to make you famous, is set to be a global community of mobile industry visionaries, developers and influentials fostering cooperation and a cross border business development through virtual and live networking events to share ideas, best practices and trends from the global markets.

Why attend MoMo?
Of late, "The queen bee" i.e Safaricom published it's terms and conditions of idea submission which stated that by submitting your proposal to Safaricom, you agree that the submissions and their contents will automatically become the property of Safaricom without compensation whatsoever! I wonder who in his/her right senses will submit their ideas to this m*******,I don't want to be accused of hate speech so figure the word out! And the conditions continue...I would tell you to read more here but Queen bee already sensed the danger in doing such a horrible thing and removed the resource from their web site!!!

Jari Tammisto, the CEO of Mobile Monday  who was interviewed by CNBC Africa says : "We live in a mobile society but the mobile ecosystem is not geared up to the mobile society needs and that is where mobile Monday fits in."
The major players, like service providers have been dictating where this ecosystem is going hence the need to bring small players like you together to change the direction of this ecosystem. Get the point?

The third session of Mobile Monday was held at the Nairobi's Innovation Hub,iHub on Monday the 14th of this month.Jessica Colaco, the iHub manager and akirachix CEO started the event by praising and congratulating the akirachix team for their hard work and all the humanitarian events they have being involved in the past few days.

Linnet Kwamboka,Business Development Manager of akirachix, takes the floor and talked about MapMa3. An application all Kenyans are in dire need.MapMa3 is an application that maps all Matatu(Kenya's public transport) stations and possible routes they take......Am not going deep into the application in case a malintent person reads this article. Just trying to protect people's ideas and using this as an escape goat to cover for my laziness!

Mano Marks, a senior advocate developer at Google shares his knowledge on Google maps and API's.You can get more on that by clicking his name.

Next was Kamal Budhabhatti,CEO of Craft Silicon Kenya who presented one of their amazing micro finance products. An application that runs on a hand held device that ...... Am tired and hungry do click the link to read more please!
