Some day back, I read an article about how Facebook and other social networks have been sending personal information about users to advertisers without consent,despite assurances to contrary.
Then came the chat saga where any user could see your private conversion and facebook had to shut the chat system for a while.
Today facebook is facing another security issue unless am the only one who is experiencing it. But a security risk always remains a security risk despite the number of people affected.
Am getting this kind of messages as shown on the images:
"Jamila, I have to recommend something to you. http://weights-down.com , Most amazing weight loss product I've ever tried! Already lost 15 lbs. YOU GOTTA TRY THIS STUFF!"
I admit that am over weight but hello!!!! I don't need your help facebook!!
And it doesn't stop there, as if facebook is aware of my social crisis...First with the weight,which I so want to lose then with the money which I need so badly since our salary is delayed to an unknown date :(
Sorry fellows,but you see the man there? He doesn't curse at all!! Try another spam next time ;)
Interesting stuff.Perhaps its time we rethink about giving all our private data to facebook and other social networks which compromise our privacy, and allowing and "liking" third party applications which compromise our privacy even further.Seems facebook issues are bigger than we imagined!
ReplyDeleteIt could be someone using info that you already have...and/or they made a really good guess of your current situation. Either way FB has some serious privacy issues.
